Meet Our Clinicians: Amy Corbett

Amy Corbett, PWG Clinician

I am a Licensed Mental Health Clinician (LMHC) who has been supporting women and girls in many capacities for over 20 years and I love showing up for the people I work with, in whatever space they are in, to listen, support, and encourage growth and healing. I know my clients are the experts of themselves but they might not always feel this, so my role is to support and help them embrace themselves through all the messiness and beauty of parenting, pandemic, and day to day life. As a mother, I am honored to be a part of Parent Wellness Group to support other moms and parents in feeling less alone.

I have extensive training in working with clients who have experienced trauma as well as depression, anxiety, self doubt, grief, relationship challenges, and navigating the day to day life challenges and stressors. I approach my clients as unique individuals, using a strength based, solution focused approach, helping them to prioritize their general well being and healing.

I believe the therapeutic match is an important and unique relationship that takes time to cultivate and encourage my clients to vocalize if the match doesn’t feel quite right so that we can work together to find a better option.

I am a licensed mental health counselor, with specific training in TFCBT (trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy) and motivational interviewing. After many years of working in community based and congregate care settings with women and girls, I joined Parent Wellness Group in 2021, excited to use my own experiences as a mom to support my clients. In addition to working at Parent Wellness Group, I continue to consult and provide therapeutic services to youth who have survived commercial sexual exploitation.

When I am not working, I enjoy being near the ocean, being silly with my kids (I have two girls), and playing with my dog. I am an avid reader and music lover and have worked hard to prioritize moments of rest and pleasure, trying to stay present during this hectic time.
