Meet Our Clinicians: Ali Schmitt

Ali Schmitt, Clinician

Since I was a child, I wanted to be a social worker who works alongside families as they navigate the challenges of life. Over the last 15 years, I have worked as a social worker, teacher, yoga teacher and developmental specialist. I have had the privilege to work with children of all ages ranging from newborns to college age young people. I have spent the majority of my years working with children 0-3 and their families, supporting women and families through pregnancy and postpartum, and helping adoptive and birth parents navigate the adoption process. With my background in yoga, I also bring yoga and mediation into my clinical practice as need and interest arise.

Through these years of experience working with women, children and young families, I have gained immense compassion for the art of parenting. I bring that compassion to my work with caregivers and to my day to day life as a mother of three young children.

I understand that we live in a culture that often expects parents to excel in all areas of their life while also taking care of themselves. However, the tools to take care of ourselves can be hard to find and even harder to find time for. I strive to support parents in navigating what that balance might look like in their unique situations.
