Building On Our Vision: Creating a Village of Support for Parents

Now that I am five years out from having my second baby, there are many parts of the postpartum stage I’ve forgotten AND I will never forget the “hardness” of it. As we come into the second anniversary of Parent Wellness Group (formerly Postpartum Wellness Group), I am taken back to all the feelings I had that led me to my passion for supporting parents.

No matter how far I get from those early days, I will never forget wondering, “Am I doing this right!?” or “Am I even cut out to be doing this at all!?” I will also never forget how VITAL connecting with other moms and parents was for my own health, but also the health of my relationship with my husband.

Parenthood is one of those things you can truly only understand once you’ve lived it. The judgment and lack of understanding I had pre-kids is something that I know is very common. And this is no fault of the non-kid person! It’s just a product of not having the lived experience to empathize or understand the depths of emotion and struggle and joy that come with parenting.

I am more clear now than I’ve ever been on how the future of parents thriving depends on support not only from a village of friends and family who are supportive and loving, but ALSO from a village of professional support.

Between therapists, coaches, lactation consultants, pelvic floor therapists, chiropractors, acupuncturists, nervous system healers, and mindfulness teachers, we need support from trained professionals who know what parents struggle with and are living through on a daily basis.

This vision of a village of support that has depth and experience is why I started Parent Wellness Group.

We are a collective of seasoned clinicians who are passionate about supporting parents as they navigate the challenges that come with raising a family. We have personally experienced trying to get pregnant, having kids, and navigating the various stages of parenting from infancy to college-aged, so we understand your challenges and are uniquely qualified and PROUD to support you.

As we continue to grow, we are thrilled to bring you continued access to individual, group, and couples therapy as well as parent coaching in 2024. We will also continue expanding our free resources - more videos with our clinicians, more free workshops with our clinicians and incredible experts in the fields supporting parents, and, of course, more free content right here on this PWG blog.

Whether you are a client, blog reader, partner, or anyone who is in our Parent Wellness Group community - we thank you!! Thank you for being a part of our mission to help ALL parents get the support they need to navigate a personal wellness journey for themselves and their families.

If you have any ideas of how we can better support YOU in your own unique journey of parenting, please reach out. If one parent has a need, we know that many will have the same. We are eager to serve this community and grow our offerings. Thanks for being here for it.
